Assignment for Art History module in year one (2019)
My inspiration for this animated title design animation would be live action stop motion i have seen on the television since young about handcrafts . Usually they would have the paper moving onto the screen by itself and with just scissors closing , the next thing that happens would be that the paper is already split into two parts . Since the movie itself follows stop-motion animation technique , I combined a few animation techniques such as cut out and pixilation animation for the title sequence , while still maintaining the common style(stop-motion). I added in the colour change in the first "MOVIE" text as i was inspired by colour changing stop motions as well . However for the final title sequence , i used the original move title design from the movie poster itself as it looks more proper to fit in before the actual movie starts .
Other than that , i incorporated the part of making the object appear as if it moves by itself on screen in my video where the sheep are seen to be running through the town , on the road . Also , i tried to make certain scenes (cardboard BG with their photo in polaroid) look smooth and natural however due to timing constrains the frames in between had to be cut off but it still shows the movement of the objects as i want it to be . To make this whole title sequence more convincing , i added "directed by" and "starring" before revealing the movie title .
The original movie title : Shaun the Sheep: The Movie (2015)
